Mr. Osborneasked the Minister of Transport why he has not yet given his consent nor sanctioned a loan to the borough of Cleethorpes to construct a new road from Bentley Street to the new housing estate, in view of the fact that the proposed road has the support of other Departments and the county council; and, since the question has been under his consideration since June, 1948, if he will give immediate authority for this work to be done.
§ Mr. BarnesI hope to approve this proposal when substantially greater resources can be devoted to road work, but in existing economic conditions I cannot give my consent.
