§ 80. Mr. G. Thomasasked the Minister of Education the names of local education authorities in Wales which have secondary technical schools providing for children of 11 years of age and over; and when it is expected that such provision will be available in Cardiff.
§ Mr. TomlinsonAll of the 21 secondary technical schools in Wales are schools which, before 1st April, 1945, were recognised as junior technical schools, with about 13 years as the normal age of entry. Only one of these schools (in Montgomeryshire) has reduced the age of entry to 11. I cannot forecast when secondary technical schools with a full age range will be available in Cardiff because this must depend on the rate at which progress can be made with the erection of new secondary schools generally.
