§ 82. Mr. Jannerasked the Minister of Pensions the number of claims made by widows of ex-Service men who served in the 1914–18 war for pensions in cases where they married their husbands subsequent to their Army service; and how many were granted pensions and allowances.
§ Mr. SimmonsThe number of such claims in respect of deaths occurring after 2nd September, 1939, was 2,977. Pension was granted in 1,747 cases. My right hon. Friend has no reliable information as to the number of claims made by widows whose husbands died before 3rd September, 1939, and who were therefore not eligible for consideration.
