§ Mr. Piratinasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish a complete list of the Exchequer grants which can legally be made to local authorities, showing in each case authority for the grant, the nature of the grant, and the normal amount; and the types of authority to whom the grant may be made.
§ Sir S. CrippsNo. Owing to the number and variety of the grants in question and of the conditions under which they are paid, the compilation of such a list would involve a great deal of labour which would not be justified by the usefulness of the list.
