§ 14. Sir R. Aclandasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations whether he will give the total number of people who have been convicted and sentenced either to death or to substantial periods of imprisonment for ritual murder, or for complicity therein, during the last 12 months.
§ Mr. P. Noel-BakerSix cases of ritual murder were tried in Basutoland in 1948. Forty-seven persons were sentenced to death. Ten of these sentences were carried out.
