HC Deb 09 March 1949 vol 462 c124W
Mr. W. Fletcher

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is in a position to make a statement about the possibility of a loan from this country to the Government of Burma; and whether he is bearing in mind that this country has already made substantial financial contributions to that country, now no longer part of the British Empire, without apparent benefit to British interests.

Mr. Jay

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given by my right hon. Friend the Minister of State on Monday, 7th March, to the hon. Member for Hornsey (Mr. Gammans) and the hon. Member for Leek (Mr. Harold Davies).
