Mr. Bramallasked the Secretary of State for Air if he will make a grant to the Air Training Corps for nonmilitary activities such as sport, education and social functions in view of the attraction to recruiting provided by such activities and the deterrent effect of the charge for such activities falling on the boys and their parents.
§ Mr. de FreitasNo. Under the Education Act, 1944, the Ministry of Education and the local education authorities are responsible for providing facilities for such recreational, social and physical training. Accordingly Air Training Corps units apply to the local education authorities for such assistance as they require.
