HC Deb 02 March 1949 vol 462 cc41-2W
29. Miss Colman

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs for what reasons German shipbuilders are able to contract to build seven motorships for Norwegian ship owners at a price much below the world level; and whether it is proposed to grant permission for this contract to be carried out.

Mr. Bevin

I am informed that no such order has been placed; Military Government approval would be necessary and I understand that this has not even been sought. The remaining part of the Question does not therefore arise.
