HC Deb 02 March 1949 vol 462 c44W
62. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many approved schools exist in Nigeria; how many boys and girls, respectively, are in those schools; and to what extent is accommodation adequate.

Mr. Creech Jones

There are two approved schools in Nigeria, both for boys. Their present strength totals 240. With the extension of delinquency services-further accommodation will be required and steps are already being taken to double the capacity at one of the schools.
