§ 54. Mr. Randallasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has now received the Report of the Committee which he appointed last year to inquire into the existing limitations on the political activities which may be undertaken by civil servants; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Sir S. CrippsYes. Copies of the Report will be available in the Vote Office today. The Government have considered this document and have decided to accept the Committee's recommendations. The detailed arrangements to give effect to the Committee's findings are being considered and will be promulgated as soon as possible. I would like, on behalf of His Majesty's Government, to thank the chairman, Mr. J. C. Master-man, and the other members of the Committee for this valuable Report.
