asked the Minister of Labour to what extent his Appointments Board is finding employment for ex-officers of the services over 40 years of age.

Mr. Isaacs

Statistics by age groups are not available. From VE-Day to 11th April, 1949, 22,964 ex-officers of all ages, including 1,451 women, were placed in employment by the Appointments Service. Of these, 5,891, including 231 women, were placed in employment during the 12 months ended 11th April, 1949.
