§ Mr. Mikardoasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will ensure that no military or other assistance is given by His Majesty's Government to the Egyptian Government until the latter release from custody the British subjects they are at present holding without charge or trial.
§ Mr. MayhewMy hon. Friend may be assured that His Majesty's Government are continuing to press most energetically for the early release of the British subjects who are still detained in Egypt. As the matter is under active discussion with the Egyptian Government it might prejudice a successful outcome for me to say more at this stage.
