§ Mr. TomlinsonI regret that the population statistics for Lincolnshire and Yorkshire required to calculate these percentages are not yet known. In January, 1949, 21 per cent. of the children aged 12 and 13 in primary and secondary schools maintained or assisted by local education authorities in all the administrative counties and county boroughs in Lincolnshire were in grammar schools. The corresponding figure for all the administrative counties and county boroughs in Yorkshire was 20 per cent.
