Mr. De la Bèreasked the Minister of Food whether, in view of the Government's pronouncement favouring the importation of any foodstuffs for which there is a consumer demand, if the necessary currency can be made available, the Government will, with a view to saving currency and increasing supplies, favour the importation of raw materials as opposed to finished products wherever practicable.
