§ Professor Gruffyddasked the Minister of Education whether he will make inquiry into the condition of the buildings at the Canton and Howard Gardens Grammar Schools in Cardiff.
§ Mr. TomlinsonI would refer the hon. Member to my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Cardiff, Central (Mr. G. Thomas) on 23rd June, 1949. Repairs and reinstatement works at the Canton High School are now almost complete. The Howard Gardens High School was inspected in May of this year and the main findings have been communicated to the Cardiff local education authority. In these circumstances, I do not think any useful purpose would be served at present by a further inquiry.
