§ Mr. Viantasked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the failure of medical science to discover a cure for poliomyelitis, he will give an assurance that steps have been taken to provide the Kenny treatment to sufferers from this disease.
§ Mr. BevanThis method of treatment is well known to specialists in the disease in this and other countries. The use of it in individual cases is a matter of medical discretion, and it has not been shown, as I am advised, that it would be justifiable to adopt it to the exclusion of other methods used in current medical practice which are no less valuable.
