§ Colonel Stoddart-Scottasked the Minister of Health if he will make a statement with regard to the causes for the increase of over 3,890 admissions to mental hospitals in England and Wales during the first three months of 1949, as compared with the same period in 1948.
§ Mr. BevanThe increase is due partly to the increase in the general population and partly to the greater readiness of persons to enter mental hospitals voluntarily for treatment.
