26. Mr. N. Macpherson

asked the Minister of National Insurance whether he will allow persons who have retired from active work, but have been refused retirement allowance on the ground that their responsibilities are inconsistent with retirement, to exercise an option to receive the old pension of 10s. per week where they have previously contracted for this on a voluntary basis in accordance with the legislation prior to the National Insurance Act, 1946.
