§ The Prime MinisterOfficial car services are maintained by the Ministry of Supply in London and in each of the regional towns. These pools are available for use by any Department. With regard to the second part of the Question, it is sometimes more economic to use hired vehicles as an alternative to maintaining the official fleet at a figure sufficient to meet all demands at peak periods.
