Mr. Haleasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is prepared to appoint a departmental committee to consider the French system of colonial parliamentary representation, with a view to formulating proposals for an extension of representative government in the British Colonial territories.
Mr. Creech JonesThis matter has often been considered but no such arrangement has seemed practicable. I do not think a departmental committee is necessary.
