§ Mr. IsaacsThe average cost of training an adult student for six months in the training centres operated by the National Institute of Houseworkers is approximately £160. The cost of a nine months' course for a younger student is 107W approximately £210. These figures include the cost of allowances paid to the students and, in the great majority of cases, their board and lodging.
108. Lieut.-Commander Hutchisonasked the Minister of Labour what has been the total cost of the National Institute of Houseworkers during the past year; and what has been the cost of the headquarters of the institute during the same period.
§ Mr. IsaacsThe total cost of the National Institute of Houseworkers during the year 1948 was approximately £105,000. This includes an expenditure of approximately £41,000 on capital assets mainly in the form of premises suitable for carrying out the Institute's training programme. The running cost of the Institute's headquarters. included in the total, was £31,000.
