asked the Minister of Food when the contract with Holland was made for the import of onions during 1948.

Mr. Strachey

We did not contract to buy onions from Holland. In February last we undertook to license the import by private traders of not less than 60,000 tons of dry bulb onions from Holland from the 1948 crop.
