Mr. Baker Whiteasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give, in sterling, to the nearest pound, figures for direct and indirect taxation per head of the population in Great Britain, Canada, Australia, South Africa and the U.S.A. for the years ended 31st March, 1947, and 1948; and an estimate of the figure for the year ending 31st March, 1949, on the lines of the answer given on 19th June, 1946.
