HL Deb 24 February 1949 vol 160 cc1185-6WA
LORD MANCROFT

asked His Majesty's Government whether their attention has been drawn to the frequent and increasing number of cases of enteritis occurring amongst the children accommodated at the St. Marylebone Home, and what steps are being taken to deal with this situation.

LORD SHEPHERD

The Government are aware that a number of cases of enteritis have occurred at this Home but the incidence is decreasing. Every effort is being made to rehouse the families temporarily accommodated in the Home. Meanwhile the London County Council are making structural alterations to the premises and installing sterilising equipment.

House adjourned at half-past six o'clock.
