§ 18. Mr. Hurdasked the Minister of Health if he has considered a letter from the Wokingham Rural District Council urging relaxation of the controls on building by private enterprise; and if he will allow local authorities some latitude in determining the ratio between council building and private enterprise building according to local circumstances.
§ Mr. BevanI have considered the letter. It would be contrary to the Government's policy to reduce the number of houses to be built by local authorities for letting in order that more houses may be built by private persons under licence.
