Noel-Bakerasked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he is aware that 1,621 premises in the Brentford area out of a total of 5,261 premises are still without any electricity supply; and when he will relax restrictions on the development of electricity supplies, in order that the people of Brentford may enjoy modern facilities in their homes.
§ Mr. RobensYes. Owing to the shortage of generating capacity and the limited supply of labour and materials available, it is not possible at present to supply electricity to all who want it. Priority must be given to industry, farms and new houses with no other installed means of lighting. I cannot say when it will be possible to relax the restrictions.
