HC Deb 21 February 1949 vol 461 c234W
Sir W. Smithers

asked the hon. Member for West Walthamstow, as Chairman of the Kitchen Committee, if he is aware of the serious discontent among the waiting and kitchen staff because of the unpalatable and bad food served to them; and whether he will take immediate steps to remedy this matter.

Mr. McEntee

No such discontent exists amongst the staff, nor is there any reason why it should. May I again remind the hon. Gentleman and the staff, that a Joint Staff Committee, to which the staff has elected its own representatives is in existence and is always available to consider any complaint, which the staff or the management wish to have considered.
