asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will make a statement on the future administration of the former Italian Colonies.

These territories have since their liberation been the administrative responsibility of the Secretary of State for War. In view of the large degree of civilianisation which has taken place, particularly in the administration of Cyrenaica and Tripolitania, it has been decided that it would be more logical that the administrative responsibility for these two territories should be transferred to the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. The future of the administrations in Eritrea and former Italian Somaliland is still under consideration.
