§ 95. Mr. Rentonasked the Minister of Education what steps he is taking to enable Palestinian Arab students now in this country to complete their studies here, bearing in mind that most of them have, owing to the war in Palestine, been cut off from the financial help which they had when their studies started, and which they expected to receive throughout the time necessary to complete their studies.
§ Mr. TomlinsonI am informed that the scholarships of those students from Palestine who previously held awards in this country are being continued by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Colonies. The students who are196W in difficulties are the private students, whom I am afraid that I cannot help from funds at my disposal. I understand that some of them have been provided with financial assistance from the Assistance Board and that an appeal on their behalf is being made by the International Students' Service. Their circumstances have been brought to the attention of the Governments of the Arab States.
