§ 80. Mr. Price-Whiteasked the Minister of Health to what extent he has been consulted by the British Electricity Authority on their proposal to divert the present course of the Afan Ro River in the Conway Valley; and if, in view of the effect of such diversion upon public health services in that area, he will take steps in conjunction with the other Departments concerned to ensure that no action will he taken to divert the river before all local interested parties are informed and have been given an opportunity of being heard at a local inquiry.
§ Mr. BevanI have not been consulted by the British Electricity Authority about this proposal, but I am in touch with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Fuel and Power who is instructing them to publish notices and deposit plans for public inspection so that interested parties can make any representations they think fit. I understand that if objections are made, he will consider holding a public local inquiry, at which local interested parties would be given an opportunity of being heard.
