§ Captain Bullockasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much money has been allocated to the Arts Council during the past two years, and if in future on making grants to the council he will specify how the money should be allocated.
§ Mr. Glenvil Hall£428,000 in 1947–8 and £575,000 in 1948–9. The Treasury are kept fully informed of the Council's plans, but the Council is an autonomous body and we do not propose to disturb that position.
