§ Sir J. Mellorasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs why he corrected an error in S.I. 1948, No. 2837, by an undated slip instead of by an amending regulation; and if he will explain the effect of this alteration.
Mr. McNeilThe mistake was a small printer's error, which was not detected in the final stages, in the heading of one of the forms annexed to the Registration of Births and Deaths (Consular Officers) Regulations, 1948. The text of the regulations themselves was not affected and correction by means of a corrigendum slip was the most practical and economical method of amending the error.
