HC Deb 14 February 1949 vol 461 cc115-6W
Mr. Barstow

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he will reduce the proportion of Massey and Harris harvesters for export and at the same time limit the importation of inferior machines from abroad.

Mr. T. Williams

No Massey Harris combined harvester-threshers have been exported since production started in Britain last July. Production between now and next harvest has been reserved for the home market, though it may be desirable that a few sample machines should be exported. I am not aware that any inferior machines are being imported.
