§ 64. Mr. Austinasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is aware of the increased number of fatalities and serious illnesses arising from excessive use of thyroid tablets; and if he will now consider the inclusion of this dangerous drug in the restricted sale provisions of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
§ Mr. EdeI am advised that thyroid extract is not a drug which would be productive of ill effects similar or analogous to those produced by morphine or cocaine and that consequently it is not a drug to which the Dangerous Drugs Acts can be applied.
