HC Deb 09 February 1949 vol 461 c66W
87. Mr. J. Lewis

asked the Postmaster-General if he will state the value of the orders placed for equipment for the television service by his Department and the B.B.C. in 1948; and the value of the orders which it is estimated will be placed during 1949.

Mr. Wilfred Paling

In 1948 the value of orders for television service equipment placed by my Department was roughly £120,000 and by the B.B.C. was about £207,000. It is too early to state the value of the orders which will be placed in 1949.
