§ 88. Mr. Linsteadasked the Minister of Health what arrangements he has made under his powers under Section 48 of the National Health Service Act to establish refresher courses; and how much public money has been paid out in respect of these courses at the last convenient date.
§ Mr. BevanI will send the hon. Member a note describing the arrangements. During the period 5th July, 1948-31st January, 1949, payments in respect of refresher courses under Section 48 amounted to £1,335. In the same period payments amounting to £1,982 were made in respect of refresher courses for ex-Service doctors and dentists. There are in addition a large number of residential and other appointments in hospital for ex-Service doctors.
