Mr. Rentonasked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that fitters of agricultural machinery are vital to the efficiency of modern mechanised farming; and whether he will take steps to release these men from military service in cases in which their services to farming are proved to be indispensable.
§ Mr. IsaacsI appreciate the importance of the work of these men but I am afraid that I could not release them from the common liability to perform military service.
