§ Mr. Dribergasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will make a statement on the future status and use of the Jamaica Battalion.
Mr. Creech JonesThe Jamaica Battalion will continue in existence until March, 1950, and a further extension will be considered in October of this year. The Battalion is a local full-time colonial unit for the purposes of internal security in the Colony.
