HC Deb 14 December 1949 vol 470 c267W
73. Colonel J. R. H. Hutchison

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will now give the precise dates of the opening of the television stations referred to in the official programme for television extension.

Mr. Hobson

My right hon. Friend regrets he is not yet able to give precise dates for the opening of all the television stations referred to. The Sutton Cold-field Station opens on 17th December and it is hoped to open Holme Moss about the middle of 1951.

79. Sir R. Ross

asked the Postmaster-General where the proposed low-power television station in Northern Ireland will be situated; and what will be its effective range.

Mr. Hobson

My right hon. Friend regrets he is unable to say at present—the site has not yet been chosen.
