HC Deb 14 December 1949 vol 470 c278W
Mr. Marples

asked the Minister of Labour how many successful prosecutions, within a convenient recent period, have been launched by the Board of Inland Revenue on anonymous letters; and how many on letters where the informant disclosed his identity.

Sir S. Cripps

I have been asked to reply. Since the beginning of 1948 the Board of Inland Revenue have launched one successful prosecution as the result of information furnished anonymously, and seven as the result of information furnished by people who gave their names.
