§ Mr. Mott Radclyffeasked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been drawn to the recent decision of the Agricultural Wages Board authorising an increase in the minimum wages for woodmen; and whether, in consequence, he will order a review of the prices' schedule of home-grown timber.
§ Mr. BottomleyMaximum prices for home-grown timber, which were fixed in 1939, were increased in 1947. Organisations representing English and Scottish woodlands owners have put forward a case for a further increase on the ground that wages have recently risen and this case is now being considered.
