asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs on what basis the German administrators for the Ruhr industries are being selected; and which German authorities or interests have been consulted or asked to submit panels of possible names.

Trustees for the coal and steel industries in the bizone are being selected by the British and United States Military Governors from lists of names submitted by the German authorities and appropriate organisations. In the case of coal, the Bizonal Executive Committee, the Mineworkers' Trade Unions, the Federation of Trades Unions and various professional organisations were invited to submit nominations. In the case of steel, the bodies approached were the Bizonal Executive Committee, the German Steel

Federation, the Federation of Trades Unions, the Association of Chartered Accountants and the Law Society of Hamburg.
