HC Deb 01 April 1949 vol 463 cc147-8W
Mr. Scholefield Allen

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has considered the report of the Joint Committee on Psychiatry and the Law appointed by the British Medical Association and the Magistrates Association of which a copy has been sent to him; and if he proposes to introduce legislation in respect of any of the matters recommended by that committee.

Mr. Ede

The report of the Joint Committee on Psychiatry and the Law which was sent to me on 7th March is at present under consideration. I am not at present in a position to make any statement about it. Until I have considered the report any statement about legislation would be premature.
