§ Mr. D. Marshallasked the Minister of Pensions how the basic rate of disability 181W pensions for ex-Service men and women today compare with the basic rate in 1919 and 1921, taking into account the rise in the cost of living between these two dates.
§ Mr. MarquandThe basic pension rate was 40s. a week from 3rd September, 1919, and was the same in 1920 and 1921. By reference to the cost-of-living index figures in those years and today, the present basic rate corresponding to the rates in those years would be 40s. 9d. for 1919, 35s. 2d. for 1920, and 38s. 9d. a week for 1921.
