§ 108. Mr. Peter Freemanasked the Minister of Education whether his attention has been called to the case of Miss Edith Pogson of East Lexham, Norfolk, who was summoned by Mrs. Tite at Dereham on 20th August for hitting her son, aged seven years, with gloved hand thereby causing a bruise 5 inches by 7 inches on his back; and whether such form of corporal punishment is in accordance with the regulations.
§ Mr. TomlinsonI have no information about this case beyond what has appeared in the Press. On the second part of the Question I would draw attention to the reply which I gave to my hon. Friend on 28th July.
