§ Mr. LindgrenUnder an agreement between the Governments of the United Kingdom and the Philippine Republic for the operation of air services, British Overseas Airways Corporation and Hong Kong Airways, with which British Overseas Airways Corporation are associated, are included in the companies which have 113W been designated by His Majesty's Government to operate services from Hong Kong to and through Manila. Cathay Pacific Airways, a company based at Hong Kong, are already operating a service from there to Manila and Hong Kong Airways hope to start on the same route. Philippine Airlines, designated by the Philippine Government under the agreement, have recently begun to operate the only direct service from here to Manila. It takes two and a half days. The journey by air from the United Kingdom to Manila varies according to the route followed and the service used.
