§ 72. Mr. H. Thorneycroftasked the Minister of Food how many persons have been convicted of illicitly slaughtering or selling illicitly slaughtered meat during the past 12 months; and how many have been fined, have had their licences revoked, and have been committed to prison, respectively.
§ Dr. SummerskillDuring the 12 months ended 31st July, 1948, 1,134 persons were convicted of illegal slaughter and allied offences; 1,089 were fined; 14 were imprisoned. In the case of 46 persons their licences were revoked.
