§ Mr. Haleasked the Minister of Food for what purpose butterscotch is being exported from England to Australia to compete with Australian made butterscotch which is not allowed to contain butter, whilst the Australian people are rationed for their butter to enable butter to be exported to England.
§ Mr. StracheyExports of butterscotch to Australia are in keeping with the general policy of food exports as set out in my statement in the House on 21st June, 1948. No butter suitable for rationed distribution is used in their production.
