§ Mr. Teelingasked the Minister of Labour whether students who were due to enter Universities at the beginning of the coming academic year can be allowed to do so even if they are due now to be held in His Majesty's Forces for another three months.
§ Mr. IsaacsMy right hon. Friend the Lord President of the Council stated on the 14th September that the slowing down of the release programme would not affect releases in Class B. The existing arrangements for the early release of certain students will accordingly continue to operate and University students who have already been accepted for release in Class B will be released in time to begin their studies in October. The Universities have been informed that they may also apply for the early release of other intending students who were expecting to be released in Class A under the age and service scheme before the beginning of the academic year.
