HC Deb 21 September 1948 vol 456 c65W
86. Mr. Baker White

asked the President of the Board of Trade why an export licensee was refused a permit to export plums to Eire, thus carrying out a line of policy advocated by the Ministry of Food.

Mr. Bottomley

My right hon. Friend the Minister of Food is prepared to recommend the export of plums provided that certain conditions are fulfilled, and I regret that this application was refused before verifying whether these conditions could be satisfied.
